Natalie Taveras is currently the Assistant Technical Director and Resident Designer at Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. Since joining Barry in 2012, she has designed, built & painted the scenery for shows such as FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, ON THE VERGE, GODSPELL, PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE, TARTUFEE: BORN AGAIN, SYLVIA, & THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTMAN COUNTY SPELLING BEE. As a local freelancer, she has collaborated in different capacities with companies that include Zoetic Stage, City Theatre’s Summer Shorts, Bombshell Productions, Island City Stage, Broward Stage Door, The Women's Theatre Project, Sixth Star Entertainment, The Alliance Theatre Lab and Broward College.

Natalie earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre (Scenic Design) from Florida Atlantic University. During her time at FAU, she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and designed scenery for OMNIUM GATHERUM, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS & KING LEAR. She was also scenic charge for THE SPITFIRE GRILL, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK & HAY FEVER. Natalie received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from the University of Miami.

Over the last 10 years, Natalie has worked in many aspects of Technical Theatre that include Scenic & Lighting Design, Scenic Painting, Stage Management and Production Management. Natalie is extremely fortunate to have found her passion for Design and Technical Theatre at a very young age. She expects to continue sharing her knowledge and passion of Design & Theatre with future generations; focusing on the importance of creative self-expression, collaboration and problem solving.
